Came here for a quick breakfast before our friend headed out of town. But my husband and our friend have never been to Big Ed's (a reno staple) so I was excited to introduce them to this location! We were sat quickly at 9 am - which was perfect because at 9:30 am every seat was full and people were waiting for tables to open up. The inside is Reno locale. Decorated in photos from the past including musicians playing at Big Ed's, the old Reno arch, Reno Gazette Journal newspaper articles, and signatures from all the stars who frequented Reno! Of course, it isn't in the best area but don't let that deter you! I got the Ed's Benedict which the hollandaise is delicious! It's creamy, buttery, salty, and all around yummy! The potatoes are delicious and have the skin on - which I think is very important. The chicken fried steak was also very good. The outside was crunchy and the gravy was supreme. Comes with a huge amount of food! The servers were all nice and we were asked a couple of times if the food was to our liking. They also came around consistently with coffee refills which was great! As always, Big Ed's is a Reno place to be!

Best hangover breakfast in Reno. Service is always great. It's small and old. Tables are clean and it's always packed on the weekends. I had the 2 egg omelette.

It's a good place for a big burger. The fries are from spuds unpealedd like they should be.

4.8 overall for this great place! For all the years we've lived here, this is our first time at Big Ed's. They have a varied breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. I ordered their shrimp and crab two egg omelette. It comes with potatoes and your choice of toast. I asked for no cheese, but it came with it anyways, but it turned out OK. The hollandaise was nicely smooth and flavorful. Though I wished that the breakfast potatoes were fresher and hotter because they did have a good taste profile. Overall, my omelette was very tasty. My hubby ordered an omelette and he chose his favorite ingredients. He also very much enjoyed his dish. The service from Karina was wonderful and friendly. She shared that it is a family-run business and we love supporting local businesses. It's a cozy dining room and next time we'll try to get a window table. We'll be back and it will become one of our breakfast/lunch places to go. We also will come back to excitedly try the lunch and dinner offerings. Parking is limited and the neighborhood is kind of sketchy so it is wise to be cautious.

I've been going to Big Ed's for the Hot Meatloaf Sandwich for over 20 years. It's the best meatloaf in Reno. The fries are homemade and one of my favorites. The family service is impeccable. I love the booth by the window and if it's vacant I always ask can I sit here? If it's dirty they'll clean it right away for me! My husband and I usually split the plate, it's worth the extra fee. I've had the breakfast too, but you can't go wrong with the meatloaf.

Stopped into Big Ed's Alley Inn for a bite to eat before a meeting. I was hoping it would be quick and easy, and it was a great experience. I got there about 12:25. The service was excellent. The waitress asked if I needed a couple of minutes to look at the menu and as soon as I put it down, she came over to take my order. I decided on a cup of chili (no beans) and a small salad with blue cheese dressing. I bet I didn't have to wait 5 minutes from the time I ordered til my food was delivered. The chili had an excellent flavor with a ton of meat in it. I could tell it was homemade and it was yummy! Not very spicy, but I'm sure they have hot sauce if you like something a bit more spicy. The salad was fresh and crisp. When I looked at the dressing I thought it was going to be kind of tasteless because it was pretty thin. But I was wrong it had a great blue cheese flavor. I was out of there about 7 minutes before my 1 pm meeting just down the street, so it was a perfect quick yummy lunch! I just had water to drink and the cost for the meal (without tip) was less than $10.00. I mean where can you go and get a great lunch for that price? I'm for sure going to be coming back here soon!!

This spot never disappoints. Always a go to, especially to cure a hangover. Everything is always on point! I tried the Steak & Eggs and it really hit the spot. Comes with potatoes and toast. The steak was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. I added a side of hollandaise sauce and I'm so glad I did, it paired well with the steak. Their bloody Mary's are also delicious!! Perfectly spiced! If you sit in the front booth, you also get some great people watching during your meal. Service was great, our server was friendly. One of my favorite spots for brunch!!
